Neighbor Thomas.

The day after I arrived in Wilkesboro, Thomas introduced himself as our neighbor.

And mentioned that he had mowed the lawn while my parents were in Florida.

Today he came by to mow again.

Who goes around mowing their neighbor’s lawns?

Is this the world’s nicest man?

I got to chat a bit more with him today, and he told me he’s lived around here his entire life.

Then he told me about the time he burned down the barn behind my mom’s house.

“Yep, set it on fire with diesel fuel and the whole thing went whump! and lifted a couple feet in the air.”

But don’t worry, he’s not an arsonist.

That’s just how you take a barn down around here.
